About Me
I am Kellymarie, better known as Kelly, and I recently completed my journey at New York University in pursuit of a Masters of the Arts Degree in Journalism. I am currently working as a Digital Entertainment News Writer at CloserWeekly.com. I was previously a freelance Production Associate at ABC News.
I graduated in May 2016 with a Bachelors degree in the College of the Arts' School of Communication at Montclair State University where I studied Television and Digital Media with a concentration in Television Production.
I am an ambitious journalist with a strong work ethic and personality who aspires to be a successful woman in entertainment news, media and journalism. Bringing a strong background of the skills required so far in my career, academics, not only from my years in college, but as well as in high school and other experiences, I consider myself a strong candidate in the workplace.
Throughout my four undergraduate years and my three graduate semesters, I've strived to succeed in the communication path that I chose to take before even entering college. With professional internship experience in news and entertainment at Turner Broadcasting in New York, NY, I aim to expand my career as the years go on.
During my last year at Montclair State, I also held a position as a writer for The Montclair Dispatch, a hyper-local publication that publishes print and online. I began as a 10 week intern but was offered a job at a writer for the paper after my internship expired.
I am very hardworking, trustworthy and dedicated, and I feel that these qualities are required for someone who is choosing to pursue a career in this industry. I know that with all of the experience that I have had throughout my education, including studying abroad in Florence, Italy, professional internships and field work, I will be able to excel as a woman in the field of journalism.
